Rain, Berries and First Drafts

After the rain last night the dog field had a huge puddle in it. It was absolutely splendid though if you click of the picture you can see it was a bit deep for Trickster.

The nightshade berries are just beginning to ripen.
This is slightly out of focus - my phone camera always wants to look at the background and I can't yet affors a digital SLR.

Poor Steve.

I don't actually know if he's in this waterlogged grave but I found the image poignant. Especially so, since Steve is the first character to die in Another Bloody Love Story, the first draft of which I completed last night.

And this is it!

Well, half of it. I've got as far as chapter 31 with the editing. When I've fully copy edited it, I'll get this first draft bound at lulu (for myself only) and leave it until September to read through, so that it can be a fresh storyin my mind and I can spot the plot holes and flaws.

Ha! Porn spam!
Does that make me popular or sad?

I'd say popular!! LOL!

I'm very very happy for you Rachel. And jealous too...but you knew I'd be....just a tiny bit...

I think putting it aside for a month is a grand idea....it does make your eyes pop out more doesn't it? Well - it makes the mistakes we overlooked the first time pop out more...not your eyes.

I didn't know that nightshade got berries on it...they almost look like grape tomatoes.

Thanks Aims. I loathe editing - witness the other five unedited first drafts!

The nightshade berries turn the shade of... well... night.

Oh how exciting, porn spam!! Popular, I agree with aims.

Love the nightshade berries. I still manage to get my photos blurred and you know what a posh camera I have!

I read that first page, how exciting. Can't wait for the first book to come out, let alone this one.

You read the first page from that photo?
You mad woman! I'd have struggled doing that! It's currently online at the link I posted in the text, and will be until the moment I start sending it out to agents.
